A board-certified pathologist, Pan Zheng, MD, PhD, is the co-founder, Pathologist, and Chief Medical Officer of OncoC4, Inc. in Rockville, Maryland. In 2000, the company was acquired by Merck Inc. The doctor has designed and executed the clinical trials for the company, and continues to lead clinical development, which is devoted to improving safety and efficacy of cancer immunotherapy. Dr. Zheng has previously served with numerous academic institutions, including the Ohio State University, the University of Michigan Medical School, Children’s National Medical Center and the Institute of Human Virology and Department of Surgery, and the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Zheng’s research includes tumor immunology, pathology, and stem cell biology. As a physician scientist, she specializes in translational research and has co-invented new approaches for immunotherapy of cancer, autoimmune diseases, and stem cell aging, as well as therapeutic elimination of cancer stem cells.
